Just a mile from the Nevada-California border, this beautiful trek can tale you to the summit of Boundary Peak. With an elevation of 13,141' it is the highest peak in Nevada. Hikers are rewarded with views of ancient bristlecone pines and a panoramic pictures of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Note that the trail lto the top does not have much water and is unpopulated, so carry plenty of supplies and let others know your schedule (allow 8 to 12 hours for the trip). the wind is strong and the wind-chill factor high at the summit.

Elevation: 8,940' to 13,141'
Getting There: The nearest Nevada town in Tonopah, about 75 miles east. Hawthorne is 77 miles north. To reach the trailhead from State Route 264, turn west onto the dirt road in Fish Lake Valley that is 5.8 miles south of the junction of State Routes 264 and 773. Stay on the main road for 7.1 miles to and intersection where the sign points straight ahead to Middle Canyon and to the right to Trail Canyon. Turn right and follow the main road into Trail Canyon. Road ends at Boundary Peak trailhead.
