In November 2013, the Ely Art Bank--an art gallery and cultural center in a former bank--opened on Aultman Street in downtown Ely. The Art Bank has both a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and photos of White Pine county, showcasing the natural elements that people have used for generations to express life in the Great Basin. The work of numerous Nevada artists is featured and for sale: handcrafted jewelry, photography, paintings, furniture, and more fill the Art Bank.
The vault has been converted to the gallery store, and the Art Bank also offers a variety of framing services. The "Art Among the Aspens" space has been expertly prepared by local craftsman Mark Caylor. The Art Bank is a wonderful space to visit and shop with items for every palate and price point. Stay tuned to the Ely Renaissance Society's website for event announcements, including opportunities to meet the artists, view films, etc.
