From broncs to barrel racers, the Douglas County Rodeo delivers Carson Valley’s most thrilling three‑day celebration of Western sport and culture.
Rodeo fans can catch everything from bronc and bull riding to wild horse racing, barrel racing, breakaway roping, team roping, and the ever-popular mutton bustin’, where kids ages 5 to 8 test their grit in a safe, spirited sheep ride.
New this year, the adrenaline ramps up with a freestyle motocross show by FMX Ramp-Age, sending riders airborne for high-flying stunts that’ll leave you breathless. And for younger guests, Kid’s Day features bounce houses and hands-on fun designed just for them.
Beyond the arena, the rodeo grounds are packed with vendors offering handcrafted goods, mouthwatering eats from food trucks, and the return of the tattoo convention by Tiger Tattoo, spotlighting celebrated artists like Justin Hendrick, Cupa Dukes, and Lisa Del Toro. As day turns to night, live music takes over with outdoor concerts and a lively afterparty right on the grounds.
Want to be part of the action? Volunteers are welcome to help with check-in and arena support, earning free entry to that day’s events. One ticket gets you access to everything: rodeo, live music, and family activities. Children 6 and under get in free, with discounted tickets available for ages 7 to 15.
