Formerly the Sands Regency Casino Hotel Reno, the J Resort is a newly remodeled and reimagined resort in Reno’s Neon Line District. The brainchild of Jacobs Entertainment, the J Resort is a luxurious property with 833 rooms, a large outdoor swimming pool and spa in Reno Tahoe, 100,000 square feet of convention space, and amenities from brand new nightclubs and restaurants to an expansive fitness center and poolside bar.
Other new additions to this hotel in Reno, Nevada include a jacuzzi, health club, bike and ski shop, wedding chapel, salon, and the Glow Plaza Festival Grounds, which will host large outdoor events in the heart of downtown.
J Resort Hotel Rooms
The J Resort remodel retains the recent upgrades to the Sands’ rooms, including the new Birch Tower with 300+ new rooms, bringing the number of guest rooms in the resort to 833. Full suites are available for the high-rolling type, and these feature mid-century modern decor, large beds, sleepers, full tubs, wet bars, and business desks. Even the standard rooms are decked out with floor-to-ceiling windows, a pillow top mattress, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, ironing board, USB charging station, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Need anything? Just ring up the front desk.
Dining Options
The J Resort has added two restaurants into the mix, bringing the total number of options to four. Drop in to the newly-renovated The Buffet (they pumped millions of dollars into this place back in 2019) for all-you-can-enjoy entrees and desserts aplenty. The newest eateries include Hanna’s Table, which features café classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a cozy atmosphere. J Paul’s Italian Steakhouse reimagines fine dining dishes with a contemporary flair, serving antipasti starters, a seafood cold bar, top-grade steaks, and expertly prepared pastas.
The J Resort Casino
Step onto the newly remodeled and larger casino floor for the real 24/7 action. Featuring hundreds of slot machines (Wheel of Fortune, anyone?) and multiple table games, the J is the place to play. And don’t sleep on the William Hill Sports Book, where you can lay down money for your favorite college and pro teams. When it comes to gaming excitement, the J is one resort casino that delivers.
Neon Line District & Renovations
The times, as they say, are a changin’. Same goes for this formerly quiet section of downtown Reno where the Reno Neon Line District is springing up, promising a “bright lights, big city” feel. Part of a multi-billion dollar effort to revitalize downtown that got under way in 2017, the Neon Line will bring even more shopping, living, dining, entertainment, and amenities to downtown Reno. Fortunately for the J Resort and the nearby Gold Dust West, these properties stand at the center of it all and will undergo $300 million in renovations when it’s all said and done.
