Ready to feel the thrill of the grill? Thousands of carnivores descend upon southern Nevada each spring to turn up the heat for one of Nevada’s most savory barbecue challenges. Set against Historic Downtown Boulder City, more than 40 teams go head to head for the title of best barbecue, while thousands of hungry visitors devour an eclectic lineup for barbecue samplings.
Carnivores salivate for the Best Dam Barbecue Challenge, which pits 40+ cuein’ competitors against each other’s recipes for smoked and grilled goodness galore.
An official Nevada State Championship Grilling Competition, the Best Dam Barbecue Challenge is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Craving a rack of ribs? A pulled pork sandwich? Chicken with all the fixings? At the Best Dam Barbecue Challenge, visitors are sure to get their fill. Tease your palate with a sampling from select grillers or satisfy your appetite and try them all. The event is headquartered at Boulder City’s Bicentennial Park, and admission is free and open to the public. Beyond the main competition, check out the Kids Que Challenge, Best Dam Car Show, family fun zone, and vendor marketplace where visitors can find wares, wears, body art and fair-style fare.
