Have a “scent-sational” time at the Sierra Nevada Lavender & Honey Festival! This annual event features all things lavender and honey, produced by local and regional growers and beekeepers.
Family-friendly and free to attend, enjoy a glass of local honey wine from Black Rabbit Mead Company or a lavender lemonade while shopping arts and crafts and specialty food vendors. More than a dozen lavender and honey producers fill the scenic and shady Idlewild Park in Reno, along with farmers, bakers, and community organizations.
Live entertainment includes both music and theater performances, along with judging for the lavender bonnet and honey hat contest. The Busy Bee Family Zone offers demonstrations and educational exhibits, plus postcards to color and dancing.

The Sierra Nevada Lavender & Honey Festival asks to please leave your pets at home, as the hot summer asphalt can burn their paws and street festivals are often loud and crowded. Only service animals are allowed at the festival.
