Cathedral Gorge Dutch Oven Cook-Off
Delicious Dutch oven dishes are the star of the show at one of Nevada’s most surprising state parks. Every spring, hundreds of foodies and outdoorsmen alike flock to southeastern Nevada’s Cathedral Gorge State Park for a good old-fashioned cast iron cook-off with prizes awarded for the best Dutch oven bread, dessert, side dish, and main course.
Cooked from scratch in cast iron, treat your inner pioneer to delicious dining at the annual Dutch Oven Cook-Off at Cathedral Gorge State Park.
Put your cast iron culinary skills to the test by registering as a solo competitor or a team. Cooks can enter dishes in more than one category, and it’s free to enter if you register in advance (otherwise it’s $5 cash for each item entered the day of the event). Cooking starts at 1 p.m. and food tasting begins around 5 p.m.
All event attendees will get the chance to sample and vote on their favorite dish, and the winner will receive the People’s Choice Award. A panel of judges will give prizes for the top three dishes in each category. There will also be a raffle during the festivities.
