Cathedral Gorge Dutch Oven Cook-Off
Slow cooked, savory goodness is the name of the game at one of Nevada’s most surprising state parks. Each spring, hundreds of foodies and outdoorsmen alike descend upon southeastern Nevada’s Cathedral Gorge State Park for a good old fashioned cast iron competitive cook-off, with prizes awarded to best dutch oven-made bread, dessert, side dish, and main course.
Put your cast iron culinary skills to the test by registering as a solo competitor or a team, while all event goers will have the chance to sample and vote on their favorite dish. Throughout the afternoon Entrants must prepare all dishes day of in a Dutch Oven-style vessel, bringing all food and supplies necessary to compete, and may enter more than one category. Pre-registered entrants can participate for free, while day-of entries are $5 per dish/entry. Kicking cooks off at 1:00 PM, with food tasting later in the afternoon sometime around 5:30 PM.
