Enjoy a full day of family fun at the Reno Zazpiak Bat Basque Festival. Celebrating the Basque heritage that helped shape the Silver State, immerse yourself in culture and cuisine at this popular annual event.

Have a blast with the Basques in the Biggest Little City!

Kicking off at McKinley Arts & Culture Center, the Reno Basque Festival features plenty of traditional customs. Athletes and amateurs compete in weightlifting and wood chopping exhibitions, and a variety of dance troupes will perform throughout the day. Consider eating a light breakfast to take advantage of everything the Basque lunch has to offer, often including lamb, chorizo, solomo (pork loin), beans, salad, bread, cheese, and wine.

More Basque-style “txinga” competitions take place after lunch, and an evening social dance fills The Fe with revelry. Live music and Picon Punches—Nevada’s unofficial state drink—will keep the party going all night long.
