Travel Nevada Launches Free Digital Passport to Experience Nevada’s Extraterrestrial Side
Carson City, NV – Travel Nevada invites adventure-seekers to discover the quirky roadside attractions beneath Nevada’s expansive and starry skies with the Area 51(ish) Adventure, a free digital passport experience connecting travelers to some of the state’s most out-of-this-world destinations.
Packed with alien-themed stops, legendary UFO lore, and wide-open desert landscapes, the Area 51(ish) Adventure leads participants through a region synonymous with close encounters and cosmic curiosity surrounding one of the world’s most famous and mysterious military bases. Although the highly classified Area 51 remains off-limits, travelers will find plenty of extraterrestrial-inspired fun and intergalactic photo ops along the route.
“The legend of Area 51 has fueled curiosity for decades,” said Tracie Barnthouse, chief communications officer at Travel Nevada. “The Area 51(ish) Adventure lets travelers experience the mystery and wonder that have defined this region for decades, while exploring some of Nevada’s most unique roadside attractions.”
This one-of-a-kind experience makes exploring Nevada’s otherworldly Extraterrestrial Highway and beaming attractions an interactive and rewarding adventure. Participants can sign up online and access their digital passport anytime through a link sent via text or email, then visit 10 participating stops, check in digitally, and earn points along the way.
Points can be redeemed for exclusive prizes Travel Nevada calls UFOs — Uncommon Free Objects — including limited-edition Travel Nevada gear and collectibles available only through the adventure. Stops include Outpost 51 Alien Museum in Boulder City; Area 51 Alien Center in Amargosa Valley; Little A’Le’Inn, Alien Research Center, and the Black Mailbox in Rachel; E.T. Fresh Jerky and Alien Research Center in Hiko; Extraterrestrial Highway signs in Rachel, Warm Springs, and Crystal Springs; and the Closest Highway Point to Area 51.
