Celebrate Nevada Day at Springs Preserve and the on-site Nevada State Museum—a full day of discovery, creativity, and Battle Born pride across both venues.

Admission is FREE for Nevada residents with valid ID. Out-of-state visitors can still enjoy for the cost of a general admission ticket. Gather your family and join in all the festivities celebrating the Silver State’s history.

A historic cultural site spanning 180 acres in the heart of Las Vegas, Springs Preserve has a full day of fun planned, including:

  • Nevada Ghost Town Storytime: Travel back in time to Nevada’s rough and tumble ghost towns in an old-time storytelling setting.
  • Nevada Pub-Style Trivia: Take part in a pub-style quiz on facts about Nevada. Earn bragging rights and prizes!
  • Native Flower Seed Balls: Create seed balls with Nevada wildflower seeds—a perfect souvenir to plant at home.
  • Sagebrush Fingerprint Craft: Learn about sagebrush, our state flower, and create one using inkpads.
  • Nevada License Plate Gallery: Explore vintage Nevada license plate designs and create your own.
  • 2 Truths & 1 Lie: Find out how well you know Silver State facts.
  • Nevada Nicknames Toss: Match Nevada nicknames to their origin source in a bean bag toss game.
  • Nevada Gold Panning: Embrace the golden days of Nevada’s history, and learn to pan for “gold” (iron pyrite).
  • Mt. Charleston Blue Butterfly: Fly into the world of the endangered Mt. Charleston blue butterfly before entering the Butterfly Habitat.
  • Ask an Archaeologist: Meet a real archaeologist while exploring the new Nuwu Pahsats garden—and ask them just about anything.

While at Springs Preserve, step inside the Nevada State Museum—Las Vegas for even more activities. Find touchable fossils and artifacts throughout the museum, complete scavenger hunts, and visit numerous vendors.

This year’s celebration also includes a chance to explore “The New Deal in the New West: On the Road with Arthur Rothstein in Nevada.” Curated with help from the Library of Congress, the exhibition features 35 historic images of Nevada captured in 1940 alongside objects from the museum’s historical collection. The exhibit offers a window into a time of transition from a mining state to a culture of legalized gaming and the Las Vegas we know today.
