Plan to make a pit stop at The Bighorn Crossing next time you’re near Hawthorne. Grab Korean-inspired eats, convenience store goods, and maybe even views of desert bighorn sheep from the lakeside patio.

When you see the metal dragon emerging from concrete, you’ll know you’ve arrived at The Bighorn Crossing. Inside, grab a table and take your pick from a menu full of burgers, bowls, and other entrees. The Korean dishes are standouts, from tacos with kimchi salsa and nachos piled high with bulgogi to the Seoul burger and Korean rice bowl. The game burger (made with an elk or bison patty) and the jalapeno burger are also tempting, as are desserts, espresso drinks, and Italian sodas.

Dine inside under the sparkle of a disco ball, or opt for patio seats, where you’ll have a direct view of Walker Lake across the highway. You’re guaranteed to see two metal bighorn sheep sculptures outside, but keep your eyes peeled for the actual animals in the mountainscape or near the lake waters.
