Bighorn Outback Explorers Poker Run
If you love off-roading, card games, and gorgeous Nevada scenery, beeline it to Beatty for the time of your life. Debuting a brand-new course this year, the Bighorn Outback Explorers Poker Run traverses miles of desert dirt in a chase for winning poker hands and cash prizes.
The off-road course is designed for 4x4s, ATVs, and UTVs (sorry, no dirt bikes, two-wheel drive, or extra-large extended cab trucks this time). With first vehicles out at 8 a.m. and last vehicles in at 3 p.m., riders will have hours to enjoy the Silver State’s natural beauty while picking up playing cards to form the best poker hand possible. At the end of the day, the best hand will win $500 cash and the second-best hand will take home $300 cash. Competitors must be ages 18 and up to enter and present to win. Secure your spot with a $30 entry fee, and add a pulled pork sandwich, hamburger, or hot dog meal for lunch for an extra $10-$15.

Not an off-roader? The Bighorn Outback Explorers Poker Run has plenty of fun for you, too. Partake in a pancake breakfast or buy raffle tickets to win a variety of prizes. Lunch will also be an option for spectators, as will a cash bar. Event proceeds will benefit the Beatty Senior Center and the Beatty High School Scholarship Fund.
