OffBeat Music Festival is a citywide musical extravaganza showcasing northern Nevada’s growing exploding music scene. The 3-day festival features the best homegrown musical and artistic talent, alongside major festival circuit darlings and nationally touring bands across nearly 100 performances at more than a dozen venues around Midtown Reno. A driving force behind OffBeat Fest is music discovery, introducing rising stars in every genre to new fans and music lovers to their new favorite bands. As they say, “Use your ears, lose your fears.”
As the South by Southwest or Treefort Fest of Reno, this raucous, three-day “music discovery” event packs more than a dozen Midtown venues with nearly 100 emerging regional and festival circuit artists, spanning everything from psychedelic rock to outlaw honky-tonk to retro soul. Be sure to show up rested—the party tends to go all night, every night.
Usually held in early October, OffBeat Fest takes over stages in intimate barrooms, larger showrooms, and pop-up stages in funkier settings around town, creating a “music crawl” where wristband holders can easily performance-hop and catch as many shows as possible. Event venues include The Loving Cup, Record Street Brewing Company, The Virgil, 40 Mile Saloon, and many more.
