Recreate Responsibly

Welcome to wide-open, wild-at-heart Nevada. With the most public lands in the Lower 48—some 60 million acres of diverse, awe-inspiring landscapes—our expansive outdoor playground can deliver any and every kind of adventure you’re after.

But though Nevada is yours to explore, it’s ours to protect. It’s up to all of us—residents and travelers alike—to preserve our parks, ghost towns, and hot springs, from the highest deserts to the deepest canyons and all the rivers and lakes in between.

It’s our home. We can’t do it alone. So, please—responsibly roam.

Do Your Research
Recreating responsibly means being prepared for anything and everything. Do your research before you head out (and while you have cell service).

Choose Safety
When in doubt, make choices that keep you and your travel buddies safe. And remember: There’s always something new to discover here, even if you have to change your plans.

How to Recreate Responsibly in Nevada

  • Off-Road Safety: Before you get your hands (and tires) dirty, read Nevada’s Dirt Road Code for driving tips, responsible practices, and packing essentials.
  • Hot Spring Etiquette: Nevada’s hot springs are precious natural treasures. Help keep them pristine with these etiquette and safety tips.
  • Off-Highway Vehicles: Ride smart, respect trails, and register your OHV before you set out.
  • No Trespassing: Whether it’s private or public, all of Nevada’s land belongs to a person or agency. Respect No Trespassing signs and leave gates the same way you found them.
  • Take Only Memories: Removing artifacts from ghost towns, state parks, and other historic sites is illegal. Take photos, but leave objects (big or small) for others to discover.
Be BearWise: When you’re recreating in Nevada’s bear country, do your part to prevent encounters. Get tips about securing your garbage, protecting personal property, and more from the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
  • Don’t Feed the Wildlife: Feeding Nevada’s wildlife is also illegal. If wild animals are fed or become dependent on human food, they can get malnourished or die.
  • Dim the Lights: Nevada’s night skies are some of the darkest in the Lower 48. Help protect our star sanctuaries by lighting your camp mindfully and minimally.
  • Plan to Unplug: Our wild places are some of the most remote in the country. Cell service can be spotty or nonexistent, so always travel prepared.

It’s so cool to be able to say “We got married in Vegas” 😆 Okay, we renewed our vows, but what was it actually like compared to our original church wedding with the big princess dress and suits, lots of guests, months of planning, weather worries and extortionate cost 🙈? .
It was epic guys 😍 @thelittlevegaschapel took care of everything for us, we literally just had to show up wearing whatever the hell we wanted to wear 😂 It was such an intimate occasion just the four of us 😭 I really can’t explain how nice it was (sorry fam and friends, but if you ever decide to do this, you will know exactly what I mean!) When we realised our officiant looked a bit like Elvis, I thought for sure he would keep us amused so that I didn’t have to fight back tears and ruin my make up, but he was the nicest guy, who spoke the most wonderful words in the most sincere way and to be honest, we were just not prepared for how much the whole thing would mean to us. We knew we would have fun and get the opportunity for the coolest photos, but we just didn’t expect the overwhelming emotional experience that this day was! We filmed the whole ceremony and posted it in our ‘Vegas’ highlight if you want to see 😍
.
If we could do our wedding all over again, we wouldn’t hesitate to use all the money to plan an epic road trip through the US, stopping off in Vegas @thelittlevegaschapel to tie the knot, and we are so glad we chose to renew our vows like this! If you have any questions about how it all works, drop them a DM, they are very helpful! #sponsored .

I felt like in heaven when i finally made it to get down to the river. Rivers make me forget everything 😁😁😄😂😍🥰😘 !! The path to go down from the road where we parked the Jeep, is VERY steep ( pic 3 ) ... i believe the inclination can get to 60 degrees !! I butt slided from the top about 3/4 then started to walk .. 2 years ago i would just stay beside the car, and will never dare to go down a path like that !! ( see the 2 girls at far ? It’s probably 20 ft high !! ) .. and sand ( very dry soil ) ... which i always imagine i will fall if i walk in such slope .... that was why i butt slided ... i know I’m a dweep 🤢🤨 .. well at least i made it to the river .. yayy 👍😍 !! After spending some time in the river, i wouldnt miss a chance to take off my shoes and got into that COLD water 😁 .. we continued to drive up .. and then .. we saw ... a BEAVER DAM !! And a Beaver house too ( video 7-10 ), including the tree stumps they cut to build their dam .. how smart !! They must be engineers 😉😁👍😍 #rubymountainswilderness travelnevada explore_nevada nevadawildlife travelnevadaphotos #rvingnevada #rvingnevadawithdogs #bellathervdoggie #rosietheriveter #rosebud #ocheeochee #bellaandrosiesadventures #bellaandrosiethenewellcoachdoggies
