Donkey Jamboree
There’s no better way to celebrate the spirit of Nevada than with an event that honors the trusted companions that made the Silver State story possible. After all, burros (or donkeys) were part of the gold and silver rushes that nudged the Nevada Territory into official statehood. Celebrate and meet these endearing icons at the annual Donkey Jamboree in Mesquite.

Free to attend, the jamboree is an afternoon of fun for all ages. Donkeys from the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue will be waiting to meet you, as will the founders of the rescue organization. Take a tour of the Donkey History Museum to peruse a substantial collection of memorabilia and pan for real gems. Food, drinks, and live music add to the experience.
