Reno is Artown

July 1, 2020 @ 5:00 am July 31, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Artown becomes “Heartown” in 2020.

Though Artown has postponed its ticketed events and Monday Night Music Series at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch until 2021, and postponed all of this year’s Wingfield Park programming until next year, this year’s Heartown festival will still bring the entire community together.

Widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive arts festivals in the country by the National Endowment for the Arts, Reno is Artown for the entire month of July!

Celebrating its 24th year, Artown continues to dazzle the community with a month-long celebration of arts and culture that offers nearly 500 events, more than 100 workshops and over 30 performances, all along the Riverwalk downtown and through Midtown of “The Biggest Little City in the World.”

Artown, a celebration of distinguished art from artists around the work, across the country, and from the local communities, captures the human imagination and the spirit of creativity like nothing esle no where else.

“Artown has placed an emphasis on equity, diversity and inclusion which has diversified our audiences, our board of directors and brought a different level of artistry to our community,” said Artown Executive Director Beth Macmillan.

Whether it’s enjoying live music from local bands along the Truckee River on a Friday night, catching TheatreWorks rendition of the Disney Classic Aladdin, or creating your own edible dessert masterpiece at Estee’s Dessert Table, there is surely no shortage of events to keep you entertained.

The calendar of events is separated into twelve categories, including:
