Santa’s Reindeer Flyer

All aboard! There’s no better way to usher in the magic of the holiday season than a Santa train ride aboard one of Nevada’s most legendary rail lines. Situated in the heart of historic downtown Ely, kids of all ages descend upon the historic Nevada Northern Railway for a month-long lineup of holiday train rides to the North Pole, visiting jolly Old Saint Nick himself. Rock your most festive PJs, load up the whole fam, and prepare for a night of memory-making holiday sing-alongs, a visit with Santa, and of course all kinds of magical photo-opps along the way. 

Departing from the historic Nevada Northern Railway in downtown Ely, passengers will board historic locomotives original to this early 1900s railyard. The conductor of Santa’s Reindeer Flyer will contact the North Pole and ask permission to throw the Magic Switch, opening up the enchanted pathway to the North Pole. Along the way, Santa’s helpers will spark holiday cheer with sing-alongs to all your fave festive tunes, while serving up hot chocolate and cookies. Santa himself will greet all passengers upon arrival at the North Pole, then board the train to personally welcome each and every passenger, gifting everyone aboard a memento to signify their journey to the North Pole. 

Santa’s Reindeer Flyer Christmas Train is pulled by a historic diesel locomotive, and lasts 90 minutes. All locomotives are ADA accessible and feature on-board restrooms. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at the East Ely Railroad Depot at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time, with first-come first-served seating. Tickets are $40 for adults, and $20 for children ages 4-12. Children under age 4 ride for free. Ticket reservations are strongly suggested, as this themed train ride typically sells out every year.
