Dinners & Desserts
Travel Nevada Pro Tip
Pick up locally made chocolates from Dorinda’s Chocolates, Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory, or Ethel M Chocolates for a sweet treat before or after dinner. And P.S.: Ethel M’s Lights of Love Cactus Garden makes for an excellent Valentine’s Day excursion for couples, families, and anyone who adores twinkling lights.
Go all in on going out for an extra special dinner experience. Las Vegas has almost endless options for a five-star meal, and two options provide uncommon views of The Strip: The STRAT’s Top of the World Steakhouse (which fully revolves every 80 minutes) and Paris Las Vegas’ Eiffel Tower Restaurant (naturally serving French cuisine). For indoor garden vibes, both CATCH at Aria and Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas offer stunning settings with Japanese-inspired and Chinese fine dining menus, respectively. The Golden Steer Steakhouse is another icon dishing up “Old Las Vegas” ambiance.
Reno and Lake Tahoe are equally enticing. Bricks Restaurant and Wine Bar exudes warmth and comfort while pairing steak and seafood with an extensive vino selection. Down the street in Sparks, the award-winning Western Village Steakhouse is a local favorite for tableside preparations and unmatched service. In South Lake Tahoe, The Edge Restaurant & Lounge blends mountain cuisine with modern artistry in one of the most beautiful locales out there.
Beyond the major metros, more favorites include Overland Restaurant & Pub (locally sourced meats and Basque flair) in Gardnerville, The Pink House (artisan pizza and seasonal dishes) in Genoa, and the Mizpah Hotel’s Jack Dempsey Room (elevated specialties) in Tonopah.

Spas & Hot Springs
Treat partners or pals to a day of pampering. From the Awana Spa at Resorts World and Lapis Spa & Wellness at Fontainebleau in Las Vegas to Spa Atlantis and Spa Toscana in Reno, you’re bound to find top-notch relaxation and rejuvenation at luxury resorts. For something more unique, look to Tahoe Forest Baths. Unwind in a heated, Japanese cedar bath that’s believed to boost circulation and melt aches away.
If you want your gift to really make a splash, opt for a hot spring! Beyond the natural soaks that dot Nevada’s landscape, Carson Hot Springs offers private, indoor pools filled with mineral-rich water (plus access to the outdoor pools and tubs). At Steamboat Hot Springs Healing Center & Spa, pair a variety of wellness treatments with indoor and outdoor mineral baths that come with complimentary aromatherapy and cold face towels.

Date Day & Night Ideas
Travel Nevada Pro Tip
Ready to put a ring on it? Las Vegas is the “Wedding Capital of the World,” and both traditional and unconventional locales for saying “I do” abound throughout the state. 😉
Looking for day date and date night inspiration beyond the “traditional” Valentine’s Day hallmarks? In Nevada, there’s no limit to anything-but-ordinary experiences. Here’s a starting point:
- Lock your love in Lovelock. Pick up a heart-shaped padlock at various businesses in town (or bring your own), then add your adornment at Lovers Lock Plaza. It’s said that your love will endure as long as your lock remains on the chain.
- Watch sunrise from a hot air balloon. Balloon Nevada flies over the beautiful Carson Valley (which sometimes includes a glimpse of Lake Tahoe), and Vegas Balloon Rides showcases the Mojave Desert and Death Valley National Park.
- Visit The Mob Museum and see the actual brick wall from the (allegedly) Al Capone-orchestrated St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929. Then pop down to the basement for craft cocktails inside The Underground Speakeasy & Distillery.
- Go to an art gallery—in the great outdoors. Goldwell Open Air Museum is home to larger-than-life sculptures (with a ghost town right next door), and the International Car Forest of the Last Church features more than 40 vehicles with always-changing artwork.
- Hit the slopes! Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe is the closest resort to Reno and has Lake Tahoe’s highest base elevation (8,260 feet). Heavenly Mountain Resort straddles both Nevada and California, and its scenic gondola ride is perfect for anyone who doesn’t ski or snowboard. Lee Canyon, the only ski resort in southern Nevada, is less than an hour from the Las Vegas Strip. Whether you’re northern or southern, you can apres-ski at the iconic Fireside Lounge at Peppermill Resort Spa Casino or Peppermill Las Vegas.

Romantic Getaways
Nothing says romance like a night or two out of town. Trade the city lights of Las Vegas for luxury camping under a sea of stars with Vegas Glamping. Canvas tents are set up as boutique-style hotel rooms in the middle of striking southern Nevada wilderness. For a true only-in-Nevada overnighter, book the Shady Lady Bed & Breakfast. Formerly a brothel, the property has since converted into a cozy retreat with four themed rooms and wild peacocks roaming freely. Choose the Paradise Room and its heart-shaped tub for maximum Valentine’s Day vibes.
Up north, Best Bet Motor Lodge puts travelers in the heart of Reno’s MidTown District. Rooms pair vintage flair with modern design, and everything is curated for comfort. The on-site Reno Sauna Club is also available for guests, featuring an indoor lounge and an outdoor sauna inside a teardrop trailer. Down the road in Genoa, David Walley’s Resort is another hot-water hideaway with mountain views and condo-style lodging. Multiple pools are heated to varying degrees with geothermal water, and nothing beats a steamy soak in the middle of February.
