Ranging from a 5K to a 51K (and everything in between), the Extraterrestrial Full Moon Races invite runners of all skill levels to Rachel for an anything-but-ordinary experience.
Taking place along the famous Extraterrestrial Highway, this overnight race begins and ends at the Little A’Le’Inn. Course distances include a 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, and a 51K, named in honor of nearby Area 51. Enjoy mild weather, star-strewn dark skies, and cups of water and Gatorade at regular intervals. Keep an eye out for uninvited—but not unwelcome—guests overhead, too.
All racers receive a technical shirt, finishers’ medal, glow bracelet, post-race refreshments, and guarantees of alien fun. Overall and age group winners will get awards, as will the racer with the best alien-inspired costume—so dress to impress.
Because the Extraterrestrial Full Moon Races take place at night on an open-range highway (meaning look out for cows and wildlife), runners are required to wear reflective gear and either carry a flashlight or wear a headlamp. Racers who don’t want to drive themselves to the Little A’Le’Inn starting point can add on a roundtrip bus ride from Las Vegas and back.
