Rides and Rods Elko Classic Car Show
From some of the most legendary leather and saddle makers in the West, to the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum and beyond, it’s safe to say northeastern Nevada is all about horsepower. But for one week each September, discover a whole new lineup of ponies under the hood at the Rides & Rods Elko Classic Car Show. Each September, motorheads from all corners of Elko County turn out for northeastern Nevada’s flashiest car show, featuring hundreds of old-time classics, to modern hot rods, choppers, and every chromed out coupe in between.
Three days of chromed-out everything, live music and street dances, and a whole lotta burnouts, discover a whole new kind of horsepower in Nevada’s Cowboy Country at the region’s largest car show.
Kicking off each September in the heart of downtown Elko, Rides & Rods events are happening at venues all over town. Find the Car Show & Shine at Elko’s Main City Park (across from the Elko Convention Center and behind the Northeastern Nevada Museum), get in on Slow Drag Racing and Pin Up Girl Contests at Maverick Casino, along with the Downtown Street Dance and Burnout Contest at Stockmen’s Casino. Rides & Rods is free to all spectators—if you’re ready to compete, enter your hot rod for only $35. At the end of this three-day classic car show, custom piston trophies will be awarded to Best Paint, Ladies Choice, Crowd Favorite, Best in Show, and many more event category winners.
