Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort—owned by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe—offers three amazing courses. Its Snow Mountain Course is a favorite among visitors and locals alike, with challenging holes at No. 16, 17, and 18. Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson offers a Rees Jones-designed course in the foothills of the Black Mountain Range, as well as the Butch Harmon School of Golf.

Pack up your tee box and golf clubs and head beyond Sin City to the Nevada golfing mecca town of Mesquite—about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas along the Neon to Nature Road Trip. There are nine Mesquite golf courses within about 10 minutes of the hotels in this quiet oasis, and the mellow desert climate makes it a year-round recreation destination, with golf leading the pack. Among those is the Wolf Creek Golf Club, where the fairways wind through red rock canyons and white sand bunkers, and Conestoga Golf Club, which boasts a scenic 18-hole Gary Panks-designed course. After playing a round, head back into town for a full range of luxurious spa treatments and savory steakhouses at the Mesquite area casino resorts.

All situated within a 40-minute drive of each other, search no further than an impressive lineup of nine championship golf courses spread across 70,000 yards of high-desert terrain, with 171 holes sure to satisfy pros, beginners, and everyone in between. Checking them off is sure to stroke your competitive side.

Some of Nevada’s—and the world’s—most beautiful courses can be found at Lake Tahoe, with Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline as a clear frontrunner. Offering stunning views and great golf on a George Fazio-designed course, Edgewood is challenging but fair, with four sets of tees ranging from 5,567 years to 7,555 yards. Overnight at the gorgeous, recently renovated Edgewood Tahoe Resort, and don’t miss the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, hosted at Edgewood Tahoe each summer. Tee times are available for both guests and non-lodge guests, and be sure to check out the pro shop and other premium stores while you’re in the area.

Other golf courses in Lake Tahoe are the Championship Course and the Mountain Course in Incline Village on the quieter northern end of the lake. Both designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the par-72 Championship Course offers stunning views of Lake Tahoe. The par-58 Mountain Course is an executive course that’s sure to test your skill, while remaining budget friendly. Set against the foothills of Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley and Carson City golf courses put you in some of the most beautiful landscapes in northern Nevada, at the toes of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Greens lovers are in for a treat at the annual Barracuda Championship—northern Nevada’s premier PGA sporting event. Hosted in Reno, this multi-day event is broadcasted live on the Golf Channel and a must-see for any pro golf fan.

Spend a day on the green at Lakeridge Golf Course in the Biggest Little City. A favorite among locals and visitors alike, this Reno golf course boasts a par-71 course, with its signature hole, No. 15, a par-3 perched on a ridge overlooking a lake. Another fave is the Lakes Course at Red Hawk Golf and Resort in Sparks, Reno’s neighboring city. This 7,140-yard course sits on natural wetlands with more than 100 bunkers integrated throughout to create the perfect challenge.
