So proud of my kids & Charlie (the doggy)!! We hiked to Raintree today and they did great! It’s tough for littles, especially my youngest, but they endured. My oldest wants to bag a peak next and they were asking about overnight backpacking trips too! I see more fun hikes in the future for them!
170 Miles around the Lake Tahoe Basin in the Sierra Nevada and Carson ranges of California and Nevada. What an experience thru hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail with squitay94. Trip report to follow.

The rail-trail offers panoramic views of the Lake Mead. The trail leads to five railroad tunnels on its way toward Hoover Dam.
After the dam was completed in 1935, the railroad ceased operation, and in 1962 the tracks were removed; the trail opened in 1995.

April 13th: Seven Keyhole Slots
————————————
Day 2 of camping in Gold Butte National Monument, we went and explored the Seven Keyhole Slots and their associated petroglyphs. These petroglyphs are hundreds, potentially thousands of years old and are pretty incredible to see up close. Even more incredible was discovering them all over the place, even areas you would never think to look. The desert yields such incredible items from our past!

Happy Memorial Day!!! 🇺🇸 I hope everyone has a fun and safe day! I’m heading out to Sedona, Arizona today to car camp for a week 🏜
-
I spent my Memorial Day Weekend hiking A LOT! I started this hike at 4:30am and watched the sun rise over Las Vegas ☀️ In 4-5 hours I did 7.4 miles with 2,000ft of elevation gain! For me being out of shape from a month or two of not hiking, I’m happy to be jumping right back into it 💪

Great Basin is incredible! Even more so for how remote it is... you really have to make an effort to get here. We hiked about 4 miles total, no joke at over 10,000 feet elevation.
